FAQ

When a customer makes a payment, does it reflect in my accounting system? 
Yes, once a payment is made, the invoice status is automatically reflected in Fieldpoint and your ERP or accounting system as paid. You will not need to manually change the status.
Does Fieldpoint hold my customer’s credit card or bank information on file? 
Yes. Fieldpoint supports securely storing your customer’s credit card or bank account information through our integration with Stripe. All sensitive data is saved by Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider, ensuring industry-standard security and removing liability from your business.
How much is the processing fee, and who pays it in a transaction?
Processing fees vary based on the payment method (credit card, ACH, etc.). You have full control over who covers the fee. It can either be passed on to the payer (your customer) or absorbed by the payee (your business), depending on your preference and configuration. Here is a breakdown of the processing fees for each payment method: Cards 2.75% + $0.30 per successful credit or debit card Tap-to-Pay transaction 3.5% + $0.30 per successful credit or debit card online transaction Other card fees: $0.75 batch fee—a flat fee for each day transactions are processed $30 chargeback fee—a fee applied if a customer disputes a charge *(if applicable) ACH 1% + $0.30 per ACH transaction Other ACH fees: $5.00 ACH return fee—a fee applied when the transaction is rejected *(if applicable) You can also check our country-specific pricing here for the US and here for Canada.
Do I need additional hardware to complete the Tap-to-Pay transactions? 
No, you do not need additional hardware to accept Tap-to-Pay transactions, as it is built into the Fieldpoint MobilePro application. This enables all of your technicians with the MobilePro app to accept payments without needing to purchase hardware for their unique phones.
